Factory sealed, looks as good as it did when they were manufactured since they have been in a climate controlled room for a minute or 5. These are made with one of the hardest known rare substances on earth with only the hardest Diamond being harder. These will not heat up as other materials would & are extremely durable & water proof. Re-useable, simply use them until nothing is left on the disc. I have a total of 3 of these boxes, all New, priced at less than .50 per Disc for these, next lowest that I found were much higher in price & a lesser grit of the same type from an opened box were .89 per. Last few photos are examples of the other products that I found. Lot of these that you see for sale not manufactured by a known commercial company are not really Carbon Silicon or have very little on the discs, just enough so they can be called the name.

these Carbide Disc’s & results are pasted below. However, I am fairly certain if you have gotten this far, you know what these are & have a use for them:
Carbon Silicon (SiC) has an Extreme Hardness Surpassing that of Metals &
is more than 4 times harder than stainless steel. It
is hard with a Mohs hardness of 9.5, which is second only to the worlds hardest diamonds.
In addition, silicon carbide has excellent thermal conductivity. It is a kind of semiconductor and can resist oxidation at high temperature - dissipate more power (heat) per unit area & is more shock absorbent.
The significant extra margin offered by SiC brings added confidence in applications susceptible to transient thermal events. It is considered a “Super Material” for modern technology. It is
very rare on Earth but is a common form of stardust found around carbon rich stars in space. The cost of just a quarter pound of SiC is ,084.00 (US).
Note: SiC can affect you when breathe it in. It can irritate the eyes & nose on contact. Repeated high exposure may result in Pneumoconiosis which is a chronic disease to the lungs, decrease in lung function, shortness of breath, wheezing & cough. If you buy these, please where protective gear & do your own research.
